Almighty Allah is elegant and adores splendor. He likes to see the effects of his blessing on his believer. (Tirmizi) The daughter of Holy Prophet (May peace be upon him), Hazrat Umme Kulsum (Razi Allah o Taala Anha) used to wear a silk shawl with stripes. (Bukhari) Sahabiyat (Rizwan Ullah Alaihen Ajmaeen) used to wear ear rings and necklaces.(Bukhari) Jews and Christians did not use hair dye. The Holy Prophet (May peace be upon him) told to ‘oppose this practice’ which means that he directed to use hair dye.
Benefit: The basic purpose of use of hair dye is to beautify oneself. Hazrat Ayesha Siddiqa (Razi Allah o Taala Anha) took a necklace on loan (to embellish herself).(Bukhari) Hazrat Ayesha Siddiqa (Razi Allah o Taala Anha) used to apply fine perfume on the Holy Prophet (May peace be upon him) so as its shine could be seen on his hair and beard.(Bukhari) Hazrat Ayesha Siddiqa (Razi Allah o Taala Anha) used to comb the hair of the Holy Prophet (May peace be upon him.(Bukhari) When perfume was presented to Hazrat Ans (Razi Allah o Taala Anhu), he would never refuse it. He used to quote that it was also a practice of the Holy Prophet (May peace be upon him) that whenever he was presented with a perfume, he would never refuse it. (Bukhari)
Benefit: Islam is areligion of purity, cleanliness and sanctity. A wife or a husband beautifying themselves for each other is not only allowed in Islam but to an extent it has been encouraged and instructed to be given attention as well. We should all endeavor to adopt this sanctified system of Islam.
